About the Service Corps
Maryland Hillel has piloted a brand new initiative this year to engage students in year round social justice initiatives. Founded by the Alternative Break Student Fellows, the mission of the Service Corps is to channel the enthusiasm students find toward service learning on Alternative Break trips back into the communities surrounding them locally. This semester’s Service Corps initiatives include a panel on homelessness, a sock drive, a 48 hour homeless challenge, a day of lobbying, and a trash to treasure donation drive at the end of the semester. Service Corps is comprised of Alternative Break Alumni and social justice-oriented students and includes all of our on-going initiatives.
The Service Corps will work with the KSH Tzedek Fellows to plan these ongoing initiatives on campus.
