How do I sign up?
Subscribe online and pay using your Master Card, VISA, American Express or Discover. You may also sign up on-line for off-line payments including paying by check or an off-line credit card. Various payment rates are available. All payments must be made in full. An installment plan option, using a checking account debit, is available for full-meal plan purchases only.
Hillel will forward the completed contract to The University of Maryland Department of Dining Services Contracts Office. The Contracts Office performs two duties. The student’s meal plan points are “attached” to their University issued Student ID card and any funds charged for a University meal plan are refunded to your Student Account through the Bursar’s Office.
The Maryland Hillel reserves the right to cancel this Agreement and discontinue the Dining Plan when, in its judgment, an emergency or other event limits or prevents satisfactory meal service. I have read and understand all aspects of this Meal Plan Contract, including the reverse. I further understand that the student diner will be familiar and abide by the Terms and Conditions of On-Campus Housing and Dining Services Agreement for Students.

Hillel Dining – General Information
The Kosher dining program at the Sabra Deli is a flagship program of Maryland Hillel. It is operated under contract by The University of Maryland Department of Dining Services and is a Glatt kosher facility supervised by the Rabbinical Council of Greater Washington. The Sabra Deli, Hillel’s meat deli and grill are open to students on the meal plan and to the general public.
The Full Meal and Points Only plans are primarily declining balance point plans closely modeled after those offered by the University. The declining balance point system allows diners to spend their points without fixed meals per day or week. Diners’ point balances only decline when and for the amount of food that they actually purchase. Meal plan participants pay special reduced meal plan prices for the entrees they purchase. Shabbat and Friday Only meal plans are prepaid, non-refundable, meal purchases.
Diners access their meal plan points with their university issued Student ID card, which they must present for all purchases. For diners on the Full, Points Only, Friday or Shabbat meal plans Shabbat is automatically included and pre-deducted, and does not affect the points balance. The Kosher Full meal plan offered by Maryland Hillel satisfies the University requirement for students living in traditional residence halls or suites without kitchens.
Where, When, How
Participants in the Hillel Kosher meal plan dine exclusively in the Hillel dining hall. Lunch and Dinner are offered. All lunches are meat meals; brunch on Sunday and dinners on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday are dairy meals. Holiday and carryout meals are generally available.
Dining hours are Monday – Friday, Sunday 11:30-1:30 pm; Sunday – Thursday 5-6:45 pm; Friday dinner and Saturday meals follow services at approximately 7:30 pm , 11:30 am, and 5:00 pm, respectively. Carry out sandwich service is available Monday-Thursday 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Dining times sometimes vary with sunset times, and holidays and are always posted in advance on the Hillel website and in the Hillel dining hall. Students on the Full, Points Only, Friday or Shabbat meal plans need not reserve their weekday or Shabbat meals. All Shabbat guests must be reserved and paid for in advance.
The Full Meal Plan is a combination of declining balance points and pre-deducted meals. The Points Only Meal Plan is composed solely of declining balance points. The number of declining balance points varies by meal.
