The Leader Student Development Fellowship trains a small cohort of sophisticated students to become solicitors and ambassadors for Hillel. The fellowship harnesses the potential in our students’ ability to share our story, empowers students, engages our constituents and enables students to develop a skill set that will last them a lifetime.  A diverse group of students from across the country are trained over a six week period. A mini course, taught by staff, a development consultant and lay leaders includes: understanding Hillel’s story and the ability to convey it; research and solicitation skills; public speaking and letter writing; and Development 101.  The students then work with a staff member to research potential donors from their home geographic area. The students are responsible to reach out, meet with select individuals over the course of a few visits and solicit donations over the phone.
