Together with Repair the World, Maryland Hillel seeks to create a culture that inspires to students to give their time to those in need. The KSH Tzedek fellowship will empower a group of students to create local volunteer opportunities and connect the Jewish community at Maryland to meaningful service. Fellows will connect with Jewish students on campus, building relationships with their peers who may be interested in service for a variety of reasons. Through weekly trainings, fellows will become service experts learning about community organizing, leadership development and Judaism and social justice. The fellows will then forge meaningful partnerships with local organizations to set up service opportunities to connect their peers to. In addition, these fellows will educate the campus about Judaism and Social Justice and mobilize individuals to take action to make an impact on the world around them.
