Immigration Issues in America

Date: January 8-15

You will explore the immigrant experience and policy issues that exist in America. You will be presented different sides of the discussion by spending a day with the Border Patrol, speaking with immigrants and more. You will work with Border Angels, a non-profit organization supporting humanity. Border Angels consists or extraordinary volunteers who want to stop unnecessary deaths of individuals traveling through the Imperial Valley desert and mountain areas surrounding San Diego County as well as other areas located around the United States and Mexican border. They focus on issues such as the high percentage of unnecessary deaths as a result of extreme heat and cold weather and racial-discrimination crimes.

Accommodations: Staying in a church community center
Cost: $750 (includes airfare)
